The algorithm's mirror

In an age where algorithms masquerade as intuition, we've outsourced our deepest knowing to machines that mistake our momentary clicks for our authentic desires. What begins as casual scrolling becomes unconscious conditioning—each pause, each tap teaching systems to feed us more of what we consumed yesterday, until we mistake algorithmic echoes for our own voice. We're slowly forgetting the difference between what genuinely nourishes us and what simply triggers our dopamine, mistaking the comfort of predictable content loops for actual preference, and confusing the path of least resistance with the path of greatest fulfillment. The most radical act of self-discovery today might be stepping away from the screen long enough to remember what we actually want when no algorithm is watching. Substitute the word society with algorithm and the answer is pretty similar. So, algorithms are mimicking the conditioning of society. In this world, the only thing you HAVE above all is your own Agency.

How do we cultivate that??

It's developed through cultivating self-awareness, questioning desires, and questioning our questions. So, where are these desires and questions arising from????

That's why Yoga…..

Yoga is a practical framework for exploring consciousness and well-being without requiring specific religious beliefs. At its core, it's a technology of awareness - a systematic approach to understanding how your mind, body, and sense of self operate.

The physical Asana practice serves as a laboratory for observing patterns: how you react to discomfort, where you hold tension, and how breath affects mental state. This bodily intelligence often reveals insights that pure intellectual analysis misses. The journey might start with toning the body, losing weight or releasing tension and take a turn toward perfecting the pose or achieving a higher degree of flexibility and strength, but it is important to remember physical practice of yoga is more about developing honest self-awareness.

The philosophical Yoga terminologies can be overwhelming as concepts like non-attachment, present-moment awareness, go with the flow can soon become romantic or sacred without the willingness for empirical investigations. You're essentially testing these ideas against your lived experience to see what holds up. This requires a continuous study in solitude AND the company of practitioners seeking truth.

Meditation methods direct the mind toward examining the nature of thoughts, emotions, and consciousness itself. For someone agnostic about ultimate reality, these practices provide a way to explore fundamental questions about the self and awareness without needing to accept any particular dogmatic belief system.

A sincere yoga practice dissolves our addiction to being the perpetual problem-solver, the compulsive fixer-upper, the restless seeker always hunting for the next solution. It initiates us into a more profound way of being—one that learns to inhabit questions rather than frantically escape them.In this space of authentic surrender, questions cease to be problems and become doorways. We stop demanding that life make sense on our terms and start allowing it to make sense of us.
